Bad Weather Leads to Toronto Bus Cancellations

Toronto, Canada – students are being cautioned to dress warmly for the extreme wind chills resulting from the intense winter weather. They are also cautioned to verify their bus routes are active today as the weather has led to cancellations. Albeit, most of the cancellations are for locations outside of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Local news channels are reporting any bus cancellations and should be consulted prior to heading out. Today, January 7, is simply not a day to be out on foot unless it is absolutely necessary.

In a bit of news sure to disappoint adolescents, the Toronto District Board has canceled all bus rides today, but schools are in session. The exact same holds true for the Toronto Catholic District School Board. The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board has also canceled bus routes today, but schools remain open with the exception of St. Andrew, St. Benedict, and St. Peter schools. The Bluewater District School Board has announced that schools in Grey and Bruce counties are closed along with the education centre in Chelsey. The Upper Grand District School Board has also closed all schools today. It is also reported that 211 flights have been canceled at Pearson Airport as of 7:30AM local time this morning.
